Hello!
.
Sarah Here! I am a 23 year old Graduate Student and Dietetic Intern, born and raised on a small farm in Tennessee. I am currently living in St. Louis, Missouri to pursue my dream of becoming a Registered Dietitian.
I have been hanging out in kitchens as soon as I could walk. From picking vegetables in our garden to stirring cake batter, I always found a way to play with my food! As I got older, I decided that i wanted to turn this life long hobby into a career and gained my Associates in Culinary Arts in 2013. In 2016, I received my Bachelors in Nutrition at Lipscomb University (Go Bison!) At this time in my journey, I do not know where Dietetics will take me whether it in a grocery store or restaurant setting, working with children in a community environment, or something completely different, I am excited for whatever the next step will be. In 2014, after years of misdiagnosed conditions, I was finally diagnosed with Celiac Disease, an autoimmune disorder where the body is unable to tolerate Gluten. After years of eating and cooking a certain way, completing changing these behaviors, was difficult to do. Now I look at Gluten-Free cooking and baking as a great challenge in thinking outside of the box. When I am not in school or at my Line-Cook job, you can find me outdoors, at a Yoga class, rooting on my favorite teams; the Atlanta Braves and Nashville Predators and off course, still playing with my food. The purpose of this blog is raise awareness of Celiac disease, while discovering delicious food along the way. Thanks for joining me on the journey we call life! Let's go! |
